Talent city
Culture and Education Studio "Talent City" started its operation on January 10, 2011. In February the website www.talantupilseta.lv was launched and on February 8 the first jewelry making class took place. In the summer of 2011 "Talent City" completed its first free-time activity project for schoolchildren during summer holidays.
The NGO training centre has a registered educational institution status, as well as the NGO had received the status of the youth organization in the register of the Ministry of Education.
Until February 2013 a variety of craft courses were held in the rented premises in Riga, 135 Dzirnavu Street, but now the scope of offered crafts courses has been narrowed, and the organization has more activities in other areas - different projects, training courses, marketing management training on Facebook.com (page is only in latvian at the moment), study circle methodology development, off-site training for business etc.
The NGO is active in various activities and receives funding from both Latvian funds and foreign project funds. A list of implemented projects and the current list of still on-going courses can be found on the NGO’s website: www.talantupilseta.lv

Latvian traditions
In Talent City we organize also national and international cultural events - traditional culture center „In the Footsteps of the Sun” (Saules pēdās). Mainly they are Latvian annual celebrations (8 events per year). They are celebrated in different regions of Latvia connected with sun calendar and maximally keeping to the traditions of our ancestors. Most of the activities occur around the eight most important calendar rites as our ancestors used to celebrate year, like the summer and winters solstice, Ūsiņi, Jēkabi, Mārtiņi. The celebrations are held in various places around Latvia, involving also the local population in those activities. Main activities - training sessions, seminars, lectures, courses, traditional celebrations and projects.
Once per week there are workshops in “Dzīvesziņas skola” where the interested participants are preparing for traditional celebrations- learning songs, games, dances, making decorations, masks, food, collecting information materials and participating in discussions about ancient traditions and how to adjust and maintain them nowadays. There are adults and kids involved and especially elderly people with longer life experience and their stories. Within various national and international projects we compare the experiences and heritage of other nations. We are open for new projects and are looking for new project partners.
